How does Smart Mobile work and where can it be used?
Sometimes, the fluency of the connection is challenged by different factors, such as downloading large files, consuming contents that demand a lot of bandwidth and attempting to browse from crowded events.
To address this challenge, Telefónica Open Gateway is providing developers with the QoD Mobile API, which allows them to control the quality of mobile connectivity. Its integration, among other things, enables applications to modify end users’ network settings for a certain period of time to better suit the needs of the moment or enable certain features of their products. Thus, new use cases can be developed and existing ones can be reinforced, ensuring proper functioning and a stable connection for users.
This is reflected in the Smart Mobile function available on the Mi Movistar app. Thanks to the QoD Mobile API, this tool has been added, enabling users to activate a less congested channel on the aerial at these critical times, ensuring a faster and more stable connection, even in situations with high data demands.
