The standardised Know Your Customer - Match (KYC-Match) API allows you to validate user contact information quickly and easily, thanks to reliable mobile carrier data.
This validation system prevents different forms of identity fraud such as synthetic identity or identity theft and improves the conversion rate and the quality of user on-boarding for new services. In addition, thanks to its standardisation, the user footprint that can be reached through multiple mobile carriers can be expanded.
Thanks to the integration of this API, validating a user's contact information is easier and faster, preventing fraud and identity theft. Using the information available from telecommunications operators, KYC - Match helps to comply with AML/KYC regulations on money laundering and knowing your customer, and its standardisation under CAMARA encourages outreach to new users from multiple carriers.
In addition, KYC-Match Unified API Access feature gives you access to the network capabilities of different carriers through a single, standardised interface.
By using the KYC-Match API you can reduce your customers' identity-related risks, such as synthetic identity fraud or fake transactions based on identity theft.
This API helps you ensure compliance with anti-money laundering (AML) and know-your-customer (KYC) regulations. This makes you a more reliable actor for your customers within your business.
KYC-Match improves the quality of conversion rates when signing up customers. The API compares the contact information provided by the user against data from the relevant mobile carrier, which is a very reliable source of information, and always with meticulous respect for privacy regulations.
As it is a standardised API, you can integrate the KYC - Match procedure into your applications without the need to customise implementations for each carrier. This simplifies the development process and reduces time to market.
The standardisation of this API provides uniform access to different telecommunication companies. This expands the footprint of your business and ensures consistency and versatility between different carriers.
Prevention of the risks of identity theft
With the increase in online transactions, such as shopping, banking or social interactions, our personal information is spread across different digital platforms and databases. It is therefore increasingly important to implement robust cybersecurity measures to prevent the growth of synthetic identity fraud or phishing. The KYC-Match API allows you to validate contact information provided by customers with reliable data available from mobile network operators' records. This promotes the convenience of digital onboarding and, at the same time, reduces the risks of identity fraud.
Used APIs
Improvement of the conversion rate and quality of user databases
When signing up new customers, it is important to ensure that the contact information they provide is accurate. Fake accounts reduce the quality of your user database and give you a false sense of a good conversion rate. The KYC - Match API, with its reliable user information validation system, allows you to create higher-quality databases. This translates into a better understanding of your customers so that you can invest time and effort in them, better target your strategic business decisions and take meaningful actions.

Connected transport routes
Frete.com is the largest road freight transport platform in Latin America. Taking advantage of advances in technology and digital transformation, it is working to streamline and secure its onboarding processes. The integration of the Know Your Customer - Match API has enabled it to validate the identity of drivers when they register, verifying data such as CPF (Brazilian ID) and their mobile phone number. In this way, you get transport routes with greater security, without compromising the quality of your user experience.

CAMARA's KYC-Match API is a standardised API that allows developers to validate contact information provided by customers against data available in mobile network operators' records.
CAMARA, the open-source project led by the Linux Foundation in collaboration with the GSMA, aims to universalise network APIs under the same standards for all telecommunications companies.
The Unified API Access feature provides a single, standardised interface to access the telecommunications capabilities of different network carriers, simplifying integration for developers.
By using the KYC-Match API, companies can demonstrate that they are reliable and trustworthy business agents, that they are compliant with regulations and that they adopt the best standards for validating the identity of their customers.
A wide range of industries are interested in adopting reliable and efficient ways to prevent digital identity fraud and have high-quality user databases: fintech, insurance, credit, e-commerce and retail, customer engagement, media or entertainment.
The GSMA plays a key role in setting standards and guidelines for carrier billing, ensuring consistency and interoperability across the industry.
When using KYC-Match, secure and reliable authentication and authorisation procedures are followed to control access to the API and to obtain end-user consent.
KYC-Match API allows you to validate customer contact information against a high quality source of information that has been previously curated in the MNO's Information Systems.
The KYC-Match API is generally available to all clients. But you have to get their consent. This is done by following the authorisation flow when the developer sends the first API request.
