QoD Wi-Fi API

The standardised QoD Wi-Fi API can manage downstream traffic from residential access points to a device connected via Wi-Fi.

This solution offers control over the quality of service of devices connected to the Wi-Fi network on demand.

What can it be used for?

With the QoD Wi-Fi API you can configure and manage the quality of service of the devices connected to a single Wi-Fi network. In this way you can improve the user experience of the digital services inside your home.

You can also ensure greater control over the quality of service on demand, which is particularly useful for technologies such as virtual reality, augmented reality, cloud gaming and voice over IP.

DSCP ALLOCATIONS

The QoD Wi-Fi API can help you to specify the priority of data flows via the DSCP (Differentiated Services Code Point). This allows you to tag different types of traffic for the priority handling of critical data.

TRAFFIC PRIORITISATION

This consists of eight levels to classify traffic in keeping with its requirements and degree of importance. The API thus ensures that the data flows are handled appropriately and suited to the circumstances.

CONFIGURATION OF THE DEVICES

This helps to adapt the performance of the devices connected to a home Wi-Fi network to provide personalised Quality of Service (QoS). It offers accurate configuration control to ensure the user experience.

How to start

Follow these steps to access the Wi-Fi QoD API:

CHOOSE A PARTNER

Select a suitable Channel Partner or aggregator that offers integration with the Open Gateway API to meet your needs. Contact an expert for more information on the availability of Channel Partners or to become a new Open Gateway partner.

SIGN UP

In order to use Open Gateway products, you must register on the chosen Partner's and carrier's platform.

ACESS QOD WIFI

Once registered and with your credentials, you will be able to access the QoD Wi-Fi API on registered carriers by making API calls through your chosen Channel Partner's gateway.

REVIEWING PRIVACY POLICIES

Some Open Gateway products require end-user consent for developers to access the carrier's network capabilities on their behalf.
